Sunday Hike (Dec 16th)
Time and place TBD (suggestions are welcome). Sign up with the usual details, or e-mail Anton.
I'd like to suggest either the 3 pools beyond 7 falls , Cathedral peak which is very strenuous but a lot of fun, or the rock garden which I've never hiked but it is a local favorite. These hikes are in the "front country" which means very little driving is required.
1. Armita, no car, can meet you at KITP.
2. Karen - interested but it depends on when we get back. I'd like to be back by 4 pm, 5 at the latest, so I'd prefer an earlier departure. I'm up for a strenuous hike.
Group Dinner Thursday Dec 13th (departure from KITP at 7:00 pm)
Ming Dynasty at the Marketplace in Goleta.directions
About 15 min bike ride from KITP. Please bring cash.

Note: because of the bad weather and the possibility that the density peak for the butterflies be later on this month, either a walk along the shore or a trip to SB might be considered as alternatives if the planned event turns out to be unsuccessful.
PS: thanks everybody for sharing the ecstasy and misery of this little adventure.

The Met: Live in HD
The [[#|Metropolitan Opera]] broadcasts HD simulcasts of Saturday matinee performances to local theaters all over the world. In this area, they are shown at the historic Arlington Theater in downtown SB and, in a smaller venue at Hahn Hall at the Music Academy of the West in Montecito, which has the 2012 season brochure (pdf) online.
